The Street To Maturity

I walked down the street.
There was a hole.
I didn't see it.
I fell in.
It wasn't my fault.
I took a very long time to get out.

I walked down the same street.
There was still a deep hole.
I pretended not to see it.
I fell in.
I pretended it was still not my fault.
I took a long time to get out.

I walked down the same street.
There was still the same deep hole.
I saw it.
I fell in anyway.
It was a habit.
I got out quicker this time.

I walked down the same street.
There was a deep hole.
I saw it.
I walked around it.
I didn't fall in.

I walk down a different street.

How many times do you need to fall before you walk down the right street?
